Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room

This is one of the best executed documentaries I have ever seen. It not only explains the Enron case in incredible detail, but also delves into the psychology of those greedy Enron execs at the helm of one of the nation's biggest scandals. If you don't know all the facts of the Enron case, you will be shocked at the brutality and atrocity of the crimes committed by the CEO, CFO, accountants, and traders. The only complaint I could have is the anger I felt after the movie was over, thinking about how incredibly evil and greedy these people were. This film is extremely well done; it is narrated, written, and produced in a thought-provoking manner, that will leave you entertained, yet red with anger. To think that the whole scandal was discovered when a writer for a finance magazine asked the CEO, Jeffrey Skilling, one simple question: "Why isn't there a Balance Sheet available on your company website or stock profile?"

  2. Many films today are taking shape due to lack of real investigative documentary reporting on television. The subjects are too hot hot for commercial TV and, in some instances, even for noncommercial television. That's is laughable if you ever turned on the boob tube and crossed paths with BET.

The best part for me is that these types of films typically are very satisfying for one audience while inflaming another. It’s not unlike what’s been going on with AM talk radio over the past twenty years! That inflamed lunatic with his Obama stickers still on his BMW on I-95 in Providence is a 'for instance'.

People of a more reactionary persuasion like the educated liberals here in MA have made those who are less reactionary more so. Michael Moore and Air America Radio are two Mockumentary items which quickly f my mind.

“Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room,” Is certainly another divisive film. This one, however, is not as inflammatory as Moore’s controversial opinionated Mockumentaries, and it’s much less a specifically political film in terms of left and right, but more so one about right and wrong and why so many professional people in high, accredited places.

    A+ All DAY!
